Qualifications:
- Welder for GTAW / FCAW ASME Section lX for a 106 Piping from .1875” – 1.125 “groove unlimited fillet components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and for a Fabrication Shop. Fabrication of Spool piping and structural skids, must be 3G 4G, G6 certified.
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Ability to lift (above head) and move up to 30 pounds
Job Duties:
- Must be able to pass unlimited pipe test prior to being hired
- Must be able to pass a structural test before being hired
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using standard welding equipment
- Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts to assemblies prior to assembly
- Must be able Read engineered structural drawings and isometric drawing
- Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
- Welds separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys
- Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds, or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
- Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
- Removes rough spots from workpieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers
- Other duties as assigned
